our stay in the hospital......
Well you all have heard the story by now of how Cyrene arrived without the nurses, Dr., or any of us knowing for that matter, she came incognito, thanks to the help of THE most powerful epidural and the nurses not paying attention to how fast my contractions were speeding me along. She was pink and healthy as can be... she weighed in at 8lbs 8oz , 20 inches long and arrived sometime between the cry we heard at 7ish and when the nurse came in to check me (at my request) at 7:05 so we picked 7:01 as her birth time:) Camber guessed 7:01pm as her birth time so obviously she won that category of our contest.... Cyrene was trying to help her win that one. Cayden won the birth weight, he was 1 oz off. Colby guessed her length and got it right on, I was glad to see they each won....here Mike is cutting the cord.....
Priceless!!!!

at first I thought her hair was short and blond..... but as they cleaned her up....much to my delight..... it's dark and long!!!!!

We're home.....
and soooo exhausted, the labor and delivery went great, I'll fill in the details later, with more pictures... but i have not gotten a good nights sleep in three days and it has finally caught up with me! This is a picture of her home and tucked into bed, after being held and observed by her brothers and sister.... they couldn't believe the "black" poopy diaper and listening to her cry as I changed her... and then just how happy and deliriously satisfied she became as I nursed her back to sleep and lay her in her bed... it was priceless!!!!! I have a ton more pictures to share and the story of her unforgettable arrival, along with her stats that I will work on tomorrow, so this is it for now....... she's beautiful, I could not have hand picked a more perfect baby for our family! She's healthy and happy and EXTREMELY loved!!!!! can't wait to share her with you all!!!!

Last day of being pregnant.......
This is not a current photo, but it will work... I can not wait to regain or should I say lose my body back... I have some serious work out goals!!!!! don't get me wrong I'm not complaining too much, it has been my least gaining pregnancy, but I tell you what it has been the hardest part about being pregnant, probably because I was feeling sooo good about all the weight I lost just prior to getting pregnant. Can you say... OBSESSED?

and the funny part is that , providing that all goes well I plan on coming home as soon as they let me, even if that means the next morning... i can't wait to share her with the kids and have their help!!!!!! So yeah, I've over packed, but at least I know I will have what I want , for ANY occasion!!!!
Getting PREPARED....right down to a new blog BACKGROUND.....
Well the day of Cyrene's arrival has been scheduled, for those of you who don't know, she will arrive in all her glory on Tues. the 27th!!!!! I'm scheduled to be induced and hoping for smooth sailing !!!!!!! We will call many of you ASAP after she is born and then the phone tag can begin, plus watch for pictures to appear on our sight as soon as we can possibly get to the computer!!!!!
Tomorrow (Monday) is my official cleaning day... to sweep, mop, vacuum and get caught up with laundry one last time before we bring our little angel home! Blankets are completed( see below), deep cleaning is done, such as shampooing carpets and scrubbing from ceiling to baseboards!!!( I started doing each room way back in October, except the carpet shampooing was all finished last week)
Our hospital bags are packed, and Mike is wondering just how long I plan to stay, because I have(like always) over packed!!!! Hey, I have no clue EXACTLY what I want to dress her up in, until I see her,, so I have ONLY about 5-6 choices I've packed which ALL come with a matching receiving blanket, head band ,bow, hat, bracelet and a bigger blanket to cover the car seat and lay her on for pictures!!!! I know I'm obsessed, but what can I say... I enjoy this little girl thing a little too much!!!!
Her car seat is and has been loaded in the suburban for about a week now, grocery shopping is done, bills are payed and we are ahead in the kids' school about two weeks so we can comfortably relax and simply enjoy lovin up on Cyrene for the first two weeks!!!!!
The best part is how EXTREMELY excited the kids are to see her, they have been the joy and light of my life throughout this entire pregnancy, asking ALL the questions in the book, catering to me, especially towards the end and praying each and every day for Cyrene to grow strong and healthy!!!!! Words can not even describe how fun it has been and I can only imagine how great it will be when she is FINALLY here and to share her with them!!!!!!!
This pregnancy has been my best yet, I could not have asked for a better pregnancy!!!!! Although I am anxious to get her on the outside , it is primarily because we are so overcome with excitement to see her. We wonder what she will look like, I'm really hoping for dark hair, brown eyes and to be less than nine pounds... Mike and I and the three older kids are all having a contest, guessing her weight, length and the time she arrives... Whoever gets the closest to each of these categories will get a sweet treat, which has been purchased and are among the things I've packed for the hospital!!!!(along with the guesses written down so no one can cheat:)
We appreciate all of your prayers, love and support, during this pregnancy and know they will continue through the delivery and beyond so thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!!!

Mission Accomplished!
Ever since I made those blankets for Cyrene, the three older kids have been begging for one of their own.....
So We finally finished them and when I say "we" I mean me, the kids and Amy!!!!!
This one is Camber's.... it has " The Littlest Pet Shop" theme to it.
Last, but NOT Least.......
Bright and Beautiful, just the way our Carlie is!!!!!!

I'm so glad to be finished with all these blankets and just in time for Cyrene's delivery... chances are.... time for sewing will be at a minimal once she arrives into the family... at least for a little while. It has been a lot of fun making these for the kids and I could not have finished them in time if it were not for Amy, she has been a HUGE help, bringing over her sewing machine and working very hard with me, we even completed one for Madison!!!!!!
Our Cub Scouts!!!

Cayden and Colby's Baptism......

Well it's FINALLY here.. and we are torn as to when to do it.... they really want to be baptised on their birthday Sunday the 21st, but we have their grandpa Dykens getting knee surgery 4 days before that date so if we do it that date they won't be able to make it. We are also considering doing it shortly after the new year, but then every one will be traveling to Mesa , (including us) for Sarah and Steve and the boys' sealing..... please give me your input as to what to do.... I realize we can't make it possible for every one to come but we would like to try and make it as possible as we can...... please let me know ASAP we have to make a decision soon they are EXTREMELY anxious!!!! OHHH and thank you Haley for these neat little books they love them and are EAGERLY filling them out.. that was sweet of you!!!!!
What an AMAZING friend I have........

I've been eyeing now for the last 8 months..... it is soooo cool ... it's called the sweetpeace™ Soothes Like Moms Do, Through Baby's Senses The world’s only newborn soothing center! sweetpeace™ Newborn Soothing Center soothes like you do to help your baby adjust to life outside the womb. Developed with significant scientific research and the input of countless moms, sweetpeace™ Newborn Soothing Center addresses the multisensory needs of newborns. It moves like you do, with four unique seating positions that mimic the ways parents naturally hold their babies, and four cradling motions that create four distinct, soothing sensations. With three reclines and six speeds so you can choose the seat position and pace that best soothe your baby. sweetpeace also soothes through sound, reproducing the comforting low frequency sounds your baby heard in utero, like a heartbeat, white noise and water. There are also soothing lullabies, upbeat “waketime” songs, and even an MP3 player jack and holder, so baby can listen to her own playlist through the high quality speakers. sweetpeace also soothes through touch, simulating the comforts of the womb. The built-in swaddle blanket gives Baby the secure feeling of being held, and two-speed vibration relaxes her with subtle “massage.” Newborns also need visual simplicity, so sweetpeace™ soothes through sight with calm, neutral colors and an adjustable canopy that controls light and limits visual stimulation. sweetpeace even soothes through smell! The removable swaddle blanket and headrest can be infused with Mom’s calming, familiar scent. Other thoughtful features include a carrier seat that doubles as a floor rocker, and a car seat compatible frame that works with all Graco® infant car seats, so your baby can continue napping from car rides right to your living room. sweetpeace Newborn Soothing Center gives you and your baby a world of soothing possibilities. Sweetpeace baby soothing center is WAY more than just a swing... i predict it will be a Huge hit while i'm homeschooling and all the other MANY things that keep me running around the house.. Cyrene will be in Great hands....
